Oktoberfest is regarded as the world’s largest beer party, bratwurst, and German tradition get together in the city of Munich. For beer drinkers, the Oktoberfest season is time for jolly. The Oktoberfest has celebrated annually and the week’s long event attracts over 6 million people from every corner of the world, with over 2 million gallons taken every year. The original Oktoberfest is celebrated in Munich, but if you are not in Munich there are hundreds of self-styled Oktoberfest celebrations, but four are recognized majorly with an average attendance of half million people. Here are some of the places to celebrate Oktoberfest from all around the world.

MUNICH, GERMANY

Munich Germany is the origin and home to the world’s best Oktoberfest with visitors from around 5 to 7 million annually it has remained the biggest. The event is usually so significant that most of the action taking place is done in outdoor tents erected in the principal streets and plazas with a reservation needed for every canvas you want to visit.

CINCINNATI, OHIO

The Oktoberfest Zinzinnati is one f the legitimate claimants to Munich. The Cincinnati’s Oktoberfest takes place in September, and everyone is assured to have a great time. The opening ceremony at the Cincinnati features keg tapping and also musical events that are available in multiple stages. There is also a Cincinnati Reds ticket package that is available which gives you a beer in the commemorative Oktoberfest mug as well as a first drink free.

BLUMENAU, BRAZIL

Blumenau is the second largest Oktoberfest celebration in the world. It takes place thousands of mile away from Germany in Santa Catarina Brazil where an estimated number of over 700000 travelers celebrates the Bavarian culture and German ancestors every year. The reason for the seventeen-day celebration is not for German tradition, but for economic reasons. The Oktoberfest at Blumenau held during October. The city of Blumenau saw significant flooding in 1984 and local officials believed that having a big party would be the best way to improve the city’s economy and heighten the spirit of the locals.

KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ONTARIO, CANADA

The Kitchener Waterloo Oktoberfest is also a contender as one of the best Oktoberfest events. The Kitchener Waterloo Oktoberfest was started by few dedicated organizers and is now the largest Bavarian festival in North America. Due to the venue’s proximity with Toronto, the festival sees lots of visitors from outside the town looking to take part in over 40 events that include an annual treasure hunt, Miss Oktoberfest Gala Ball, Oktoberlicious among others. To complement the overflowing amount of beer the organizer’s host Oktoberfest Idol that invites guests to strum, sing and dance their way to popularity.

KITCHENER-WATERLOO, ONTARIO, CANADA

HONG KONG

Multiple Oktoberfest parties are thrown throughout Hong Kong, so no matter your location in the city, you will always find a good environment to share a cup. The happy Wednesday’s at the Happy Bally is a weekly celebration that mixes horse race with German music. Some do argue that the Royal Park Hotel Oktoberfest Party is home to be for foodies since a lot of German dishes go with the beers.
